Our Love Walk
Devotional Reading: “Mostly what God does is love you. Keep company with him and learn a life of love. Observe how Christ loved us. His love was not cautious but extravagant. He didn’t love in order to get something from us but to give everything of himself to us. Love like that.” Ephesians 5:2 MSG
It was said of a lad who tried rescuing a scorpion from drowning in a pool, the boy got stung several times before he could save the drowning scorpion. In spite of the discouragement all around, he determined to be of help. He uttered words that’s difficult to go off his audience minds, “it’s the nature of the scorpion to sting and it’s my nature to love regardless”.
The crux of the Gospel is essentially Love and Forgiveness, take away this two off Christianity, we are only left with religion. Our opening text (begining from verse 1) says to us to be followers of Christ as beloved children would imitate their father. We are not left in the dark on how to get this done; daily we are to walk in love. Treating others with the God kind of love is so vital to our lives because it is the answer to so many of lives problem. A quick reminder on how Jesus loved us, he died for us while we are yet lost in our sin and now we are called children of God.
Memories of those who hurt you in the past is already flashing your mind, but it’s important you know that God’s love never fails and if you learn to walk in love, you are never going to fail either. God loves us unreservedly and that is exactly what our goal in life is meant to be, we are to pursue love as though our life depends on it- because it does (1Cor. 14:1).
Why not take this moment to forgive and let go of the hurt you feel in your heart and allow God’s love to heal you. Contend for love, regardless of circumstances rising against your love walk.
Prayer and Confession
I am created in the likeness of God, His nature of love has supplanted my human nature and therefore His love is shed abroad in my heart everyday of my life in Jesus name. Amen
