Victory is Yours
Devotional Reading: He will say to them: “Listen, Israel: Right now you are advancing to wage war against your enemies. Don’t be discouraged! Don’t be afraid! Don’t panic! Don’t shake in fear on account of them, because the LORD your God is going with you to fight your enemies for you and to save you.” Deuteronomy 20:3-4 CEB
It’s good to know when you fight your enemies that God is with you. He is right there in you, on you, and around you. The enemies in your life don’t stand a chance against the living God.
God in this verse, is speaking to the children of Israel. They left the land of Egypt, are moving forward, and God is speaking through Moses and the priests in what to do. In the later verses God gets into specifics, but overall, God is telling them “go out and fight your enemies.”
Today we don’t have to go out and fight because Jesus has already conquered death, hell, and the grave for us. He disarmed the enemy and we already have the victory. It’s ours for the taking. However, we still have to go out and claim what is rightfully ours.

Notice what God is telling the people of Israel;
“Do not be afraid AS YOU GO OUT to fight…”
“For the Lord, your God is GOING WITH YOU…”
God is telling them to go. They have to make an action. If they didn’t make the action, they wouldn’t have experienced the victory that was rightfully theirs… “Your victory is in your obedience.”
Today, make sure to step out and go. Make the step that God is telling you to do. Tell somebody what you are going to do and tell them when you do it. Then do it again and again.
The victory that is rightfully yours is waiting for you to come and claim it!
Prayer and Confession
Victory is mine. As I step out in obedience, I claim the victory that God has in store for me. I will claim it and live in it every day of my life. Because I am willing and obedient, I will eat the good of the land.
