Devotional Reading: Hebrews 11:31 TPT
“Faith provided a way of escape for Rahab the prostitute, avoiding the destruction of the unbelievers, because she received the Hebrew spies in peace.”

The faith of Rahab teaches us that faith can transcend circumstances, reputations, and labels. Rahab’s faith, though she had little knowledge of God compared to the Israelites, allowed her to act boldly in receiving the Hebrew spies. It was this action, this demonstration of trust in God’s power, that opened the door to her deliverance. Faith, as we see in Rahab’s life, is not about having a perfect past but about trusting in God for the future.

Rahab’s faith was not passive; it prompted action. She risked her life by hiding the spies and negotiating for the safety of her family. Her faith was practical and bold, much like the faith we are called to have in our own lives. Sometimes, like Rahab, we face situations where our faith requires us to take courageous steps, even if it means going against the norm. Rahab’s example teaches us that faith is not just a belief in God’s existence but a trust that leads to tangible decisions, often at great personal risk. Are we willing to act in faith when it could cost us something?

In our daily walk, we often encounter “Jericho” moments—situations where destruction seems imminent, and we don’t see a way out. It could be financial struggles, broken relationships, or health crises. Rahab’s story encourages us that, no matter our background or current circumstance, faith in God provides a way of escape. Just as Rahab welcomed the spies in peace, we are called to welcome God’s promises into our lives, even when the future seems uncertain. Our faith opens doors that fear would otherwise close. Rahab didn’t know all the details of how God would deliver her, but she trusted in His power.

Furthermore, Rahab’s faith didn’t just save her; it impacted her entire household. This is a powerful reminder that our faith has ripple effects. The decisions we make in faith can be the catalyst for God’s deliverance in the lives of others. When we stand firm in our trust in God, others around us are influenced. Rahab’s family was spared because of her faith-driven actions. As we live out our faith, we become instruments of God’s salvation for those around us, showing them the way to trust in Him as well.

Prayer and Confession
Lord, I thank You that no matter my past or present circumstances, my faith in You can open doors of deliverance. I believe that You are the God who makes a way where there seems to be no way, and I will act in obedience, trusting Your power and promises. Amen.
