Obedience
Devotional Reading: “When Abram was ninety-nine years old, God appeared to him and told him, “I am the Almighty; obey me and live as you should.” Genesis 17:1 TLB
Oftentimes, the true test of our love and total dependency on God is in obedience to his divine counsel whether or not they are appealing to us at such giving time. Obeying God is taking God by His words which eventually will bring peace to our soul if we would learn to trust him completely. Little wonder, we are admonished to trust in the Lord with all our hearts and never to lean on our understanding.
Obedience to God is an ageless truth that cannot be overemphasized regardless of how far you think you must have walked with the Lord or how much of Him you claim to know. Learning to take instructions from Him as we journey through life is paramount for us if we must fulfil all that he made us for. Just as the Lord said to Abram that his being perfect lies in his walking before Him and as revealed in our opening text, “obey me and live as you should.”

Has it been your desire to please God everyday of your life, probably you’ve gone through series of prayers and fasting in the bid to attain that? If only you will learn to obey Him, then he’ll cause you to live as you should. Start by doing the little promptings consistent with the written word that God lays on your spirit today and see yourself living as you should.
Prayer and Confession
Dear Lord Jesus, I receive the grace to do as you instruct me today and henceforth, I experience joy unlimited in all may ways in Jesus name. Amen.
