The Faithfulness of God

Devotional Reading: the lord was with Joseph in the prison and showed him his faithful love. And the lord made Joseph a favourite with the prison warden. Genesis 39:21

Trials and temptations are practically inevitable in the Christian faith. Jesus was antagonized by the keepers of the Law – the Pharisees and the Sadducees. The apostles were not left behind in this, they got persecuted, experienced famine, experienced lack and suffer from cold and shipwrecks. None of this moved them neither did they go against their faith instead they stood steadfast in faith.

Joseph was a typical Old Testament example, as though the selling into slavery wasn’t enough, he was thrown into prison because of a blackmail when Potiphar’s wife tried to seduce him. However, one thing we recognized from our background text is that in all of this “God was with Joseph and showed him his faithful love”. We all know the story, he came out strong in character and was ready for the very thing God has planned out for him.

Believers must understand that we are never left behind when we are faced with heavy challenges of life, Jesus said I will be with you always till the end of the age. It’s a certainty, never feel you are alone when you are faced with difficulty instead allow it to strengthen your faith. James said, dear brothers, is your life full of difficulties and temptations? Then be happy, or when the way is rough, your patience has a chance to grow. So let it grow, and don’t try to squirm out of your problems. For when your patience is finally in full bloom, then you will be ready for anything, strong in character, full and complete. (James 1:2-4)

God is always with you and He is faithful forever.

Prayer and Confession
I have the Lord always with me, I’m never afraid, I pass through challenges with Joy and I remain steadfast in my faith, unshakeable and unmoved. Glory to God!
