Lessons From The Israelites: Miraculous Provision
Devotional Reading: The people of Israel ate the manna forty years, till they came to a habitable land. They ate the manna till they came to the border of the land of Canaan. Exodus 16:35 ESV
In the Journey of the Israelites, the next place the Israelites came to after Marah was called the desert of Sin. Here they began to grumble against Moses and Aaron once again. In Exodus 16:3, “The Israelites said to them, ‘If only we had died by the Lord’s hand in Egypt! There we sat around pots of meat and ate all the food we wanted, but you have brought us out into this desert to starve this entire assembly to death.’ Then the Lord said to Moses, ‘I have heard the grumbling of the Israelites tell them, ‘At twilight, you will eat meat, and in the morning you will be filled with bread. Then you will know that I am the Lord your God.’ “

The Israelites saw the miraculous provision of God for them each day, day in and day out, all the way to the Promised Land. God was faithful even when they continued to grumble and complain. God wants to provide for us in miraculous ways, but in uncertain situations it can be hard to trust that He is going to come through. He is Jehovah Jireh, our provider. When we get to know Him this way, we get to see His miraculous hand of provision in all the different areas of our lives. Just as God was inviting the Israelites to know Him as their Provider, He is inviting you too.
Prayer and Confession
Thank You, God, that You are Jehovah Jireh, My Provider. I am so thankful that You love to show up miraculously in the lives of Your children. Help me to trust in You and believe that You want to provide for me in every situation in my life. I know that nothing is impossible with You.
