Confessing Jesus
By Kayode Emmanuel
Devotional Reading: “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”- Romans 10:9 KJV
Gravitation, thermodynamics, sowing and reaping and other sorts of natural laws works based on an underlying principles behind each of them. So also is the case of the salvation of human soul. In the Old Testament, to be saved; counted among the righteous and not the wicked, one have to obey all the Jewish laws and serve Yahweh. Also, people who lived before the law will be judged without the law.
Now, that we preached the crucified Christ, salvation comes by believing only on him and confessing Him to be the Lord of one’s life. Confession is so vital, only that this isn’t to confess ones sins as it were, because it’s never possible to confess all of ones sins since accountability age. To be saved, you confess the Lordship of Christ over you; agreeing with the Lord God almighty that there’s no other name in whom you can be saved.
Has there ever been a day you confessed Christ Jesus as the Lord of your life? Being born by Christian parent, paying tithe, doing good and all the likes cannot get a man saved. Are you not living on assumed salvation? Why not take this moment and confess him Lord of your life?
Prayer and Confession
I believe in my heart that God raised Christ from the dead, therefore I confess with my mouth that he is the Lord of my life now and forever more. Amen
