The Living Faith

Devotional Reading: “So, when God told Abraham that he would give him a son who would have many descendants and become a great nation, Abraham believed God even though such a promise just couldn’t come to pass.” Romans 4:18 TLB

Have you ever been faced with issues that questions your faith in God before? Imagine this; a renowned man of God resident in Africa whose wife was pregnant of a child and had miscarriage (at least, she had all the physical prove of that). She informed the husband and he never considered her report to be a thing at all, he held on to what God earlier told him concerning his unborn child, and exactly 9months, she was delivered of a child. It was as though the miscarriage never happened.

The opening scripture refers to Father Abraham who in his old age and in a seemingly impossible situation sees no reason why he should not trust the words of Yahweh. This however do not come to be on it’s own, it came by as a result of his constant trust and obedience to every leading of God, even when in most cases he seems weird as he act out his confidence in the Lord God almighty. “And Abraham believed in the Lord, and He counted it as righteousness unto him” (Gen. 15:6).

Living faith is holding on to God’s word and professing it even when situations around shows contrary. Trials comes to test your conviction about God’s word. The Lord is reminding you again this day to believe on every of His words for you. Notice from the text, God declared a thing and he is committed to making it happen, only that you need to believe Him so as to be rightly positioned for the fulfilment of such promises.

For every promises in His word, the ones he gave you in the place of prayers, reflect on it all and like Abraham, who was completely sure that God was well able to do anything he promised, do likewise and see peace comes to you and in no time, such promises will be fulfilled and you will come back with testimonies in Jesus name.

Prayer and Confession
My faith looks unto God the creator of heaven and heart. I put my trust completely on Him, for I know I will not be disappointed or put to shame.
