Activating the Power of God Through Faith
Devotional Reading: “And He said to her, ‘Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be healed of your affliction.’” – Mark 5:34 (NKJV)
Power doesn’t just work automatically—it responds to faith. Faith is like a switch that turns on what’s already wired in. You could have the best generator in your house, but if you don’t start it, there’ll be no electricity. The same goes for the believer’s spiritual power; it takes faith to activate it.
When the woman with the issue of blood touched Jesus in Mark 5, power left Him instantly. But Jesus didn’t say, “My power healed you.” He said, “Your faith has made you whole.” That’s a major clue. The power was there, but it was her faith that drew it out and made it effective. Faith acts like a hand that reaches out and grabs what grace has already made available.
Faith doesn’t mean shouting louder in prayer or forcing things to happen. It means trusting God’s Word so much that you act like it’s already true. If the Word says you can lay hands on the sick and they’ll recover, faith doesn’t say, “What if it doesn’t work?”—faith says, “God said it, I’ll do it.” And then you lay hands in boldness. This applies to any situation you need the power of God to settle.
If you will learn to demonstrate God’s power, then you must exercise faith towards it.
Prayer and Confession
I live by faith and not by fear. My faith activates the power of God in my life. As I step out in faith, I see God’s power flow through me to change situations. Amen!
