Stirring the Power of God

Devotional Reading: “But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit.” – Jude 1:20 (NKJV)

The power of God in you needs to be stirred often. 2 Timothy 1:6 says, “Stir up the gift of God that is in you.” This is like shaking a bottle of juice before drinking it—the sweet stuff often settles at the bottom. If you want full taste, you’ve got to stir it up. For believers, prayer and worship are two major ways to stir spiritual power.

When you spend time praying, especially in tongues, you’re not just talking to God—you’re energizing your spirit. Jude 1:20 says, “Building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost.” That’s not emotional hype; that’s spiritual electricity. Even five to ten minutes a day can change your mindset, your boldness, and your spiritual sharpness.

Worship is another secret weapon. In Acts 16:25–26, Paul and Silas were beaten and imprisoned for preaching the gospel, yet instead of complaining, they chose to stir up the power of God within them through prayer and worship. As they sang and prayed at midnight, a supernatural earthquake shook the prison, opened all the doors, and broke everyone’s chains.

Paul and Silas didn’t have any physical tools to fight their way out, but they had a spiritual weapon—their worship. And that was more than enough. It’s the same with us today. When we feel stuck, surrounded by problems, or spiritually dry, we can stir up the power within by choosing to pray in the Spirit and worship God with our whole heart. Like Paul and Silas, we can release the power of God both for ourselves and for others.

Prayer and Confession
I am spiritually alive and active. As I pray and worship, I stir up the power of God in me. I am not lukewarm. I am on fire and full of spiritual energy. Amen!
