Discharge The Power of God Through Words
Devotional Reading: “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” – Proverbs 18:21 (NKJV)
Have you ever touched an electric wire thinking it was harmless, only to find yourself shocked? That’s what happens when power is flowing….you feel it! Now imagine your words are like those wires, they either shock life into situations or leave things stone cold.
Proverbs 18:21 doesn’t mince words when it says, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue.” That’s like saying your mouth is a loaded gun, better aim it wisely. Some folks think power is released only when you’re shaking, shouting, or sweating. But the real discharge happens when you speak in faith. Simple words, spoken with conviction, pack more punch than a million empty “amens.”
Let’s take a look at Jesus. In Mark 11:23, He taught us to speak to the mountain, not host a conference around it or cry in front of it. Just say to it: “Be removed!” It sounds too easy, but that’s how Kingdom power works. He spoke to a fig tree, and it dried up. He told Lazarus, “Come forth!” and the man who had expired four days ago came out like someone answering roll call in a graveyard.
Jesus didn’t wish, murmur, or complain—He declared. God’s power travels through speech, not just emotions. Heaven backs up the voice of faith like a well-armed bouncer backs up a VIP guest list.
Now here’s where many of us miss it: we only say what we see. If our wallet is empty, we say, “I’m broke!” If our body hurts, we shout, “This pain will kill me o!” But imagine the woman with the issue of blood in Mark 5 going around saying, “This bleeding won’t ever stop.” She would have bled herself into a permanent and irreversible situation. But no, she said, “If I can just touch the hem of His garment, I’ll be healed.” She wasn’t guessing; she was releasing power through her words. That simple declaration plugged her into God’s Power being released. So, stop reporting the problem—start proclaiming the promise. Speak what God says, not what the news or the devil is whispering.
Your words are not just sounds, they are spiritual cables. Don’t use your mouth to short-circuit your own destiny. Declare healing even when the doctor says there’s nothing they can do. Speak peace even when your house feels like a boxing ring. God’s power flows through your words. So go on, charge your atmosphere like you’re the power source of your life. Speak boldly, speak wisely, and speak like God is listening, because He is.

My words are filled with life and power. I speak boldly, and things shift. I do not speak doubt or defeat—I release God’s power through my declarations. Amen
