God Became Small on Purpose
Devotional Reading: And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:14 ESV
One of the most mind-boggling truths of Christmas is not just that God became man, but that He chose limitation. The Creator of the universe entered the world unable to walk, talk, or feed Himself. Think about that for a moment. The God who never sleeps had to sleep. The God who feeds the world had to be fed. This was not weakness. It was intentional humility. Christmas reveals a God who is powerful enough to limit Himself for love.
Many believers miss this. We often think God only works through big, and obvious displays of power. Yet the greatest divine intervention in history arrived quietly, wrapped in human flesh. God did not shout His way into the world. He trusted the process of growth. This tells us something deep. God is not always in a hurry to prove His power. Sometimes He is more interested in revealing His character.
For us, it means God is not afraid of your process. Your slow growth, small beginnings, and hidden seasons do not frustrate Him. If God was willing to grow, wait, and develop within time, then your journey does not disqualify you. Christmas assures us that God is present not only in breakthroughs, but also in beginnings, limitations, and everyday life.
Prayer and Confession
Father, I am humbled by Your love and wisdom. I thank You for meeting me in my humanity and limitations. I confess that You are at work in my small beginnings and growing seasons, and I trust Your process in my life. Amen!
