Time for Reward

 1Corinthians 3:14-15

“If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.”

Ask an average Christian whether or not he’ll go to heaven, you’ll be shocked at the response, such as I don’t know, only God does” or “I will find out on the judgment day”. Such replies shows the level of their ignorance; in the first instance, heaven is not a reward for believers instead it is our birth place, we are citizens as believers (Phil 3:20). Anyone who already believes in the gospel is not condemned for there’s no condemnation to those who are in Christ.

There are various types of judgment recorded in the scripture, the one believers will face is referred to as “judgment seat of Christ “, here is a place where we will be rewarded for all that we do while we live in the body here on earth. Every of our works will be tested by fire, anyone whose works get burnt shall suffer loss, however he shall be saved like one passing through fire.

So, as believers, it’s important we are informed, we are created for good works and all our services to God and humanity doesn’t go unnoticed, we will be rewarded both here and importantly in the Lord’s kingdom. We already have everlasting life and will never come to condemnation (John 5:24).

CONFESSION

Christ has delivered me from the cause of the law
I’m no longer under condemnation
I await my reward before God
Amen!
