The Waiting Room
By Roseline Shola
Devotional Reading: “Cheerfully expectant. Don’t quit in hard times; pray all the harder” Romans 12:12 TMSG
This generation’s greatest challenge is attributed to impatience, hence, our numerous inventions. We want things done as quickly as we can have it. We want wealth and assets built as early as possible, dodging appropriate process. One of the slogans or saying of this generation is “no time to check time.”
The above should only describe men of sight and not men of faith (believers). We must understand that we are not of this present world neither are we bound by the principles of the same. Rather, we live by the principles of heaven because we’re men of the Spirit. Our stay on earth might be viewed as a waiting room because it is temporal.
Moreso, naturally, we either are waiting for a job offer, a child, a particular contract, a prayer request to be answered, waiting to be equipped/empowered for a spiritual assignment or exploit. The beautiful thing is that, whatever we are trusting God for — waiting for the manifestations of our answered prayers — we all can keep going because of a virtue and gift called “HOPE”. Hope is the fuel that keeps the vehicle of what we believe moving. Keep being hopeful and you will see the glory of God.
Prayer and Confession
I believe in the God of possibilities. He is my father and would not let me seek him in vain. I trust him in all!
