Peace with Men

By Roseline Shola

Devorional Reading: “work at getting along with each other and with God. Otherwise, you’ll never get so much as a glimpse of God” Hebrews 12:14

Whenever I come across a passage like this one in the scripture, I take my time to consider God’s interest in human relations. Good is interested in your relationship with that brother next door, that lady with the bad attitude in your neighborhood, work place and even in your church. Hebrews 12:14 MSG

I love the message translation of Romans 12:17, it says “Don’t hit back, discover beauty in everyone”. Verse 18 in King James version of our anchor text says “If it be possible, as much as it lieth in you, live peaceably with all men”

Humans find it difficult to relate with some other humans because, we capitalize more on their weaknesses/flaws.
Take out time to discover that sweet and amazing thing about that other person, capitalize on it and relate with them on that note. When you have a good relationship with people around you, believers or unbelievers, your life will be filled with so much peace and free from bitterness.

If you find it difficult to be at peace with your fellow humans, one that you can try to relate to or with their feelings, hunger, desires, anger etc., how then can you have a good relationship with the father of all flesh(God)?

Prayer and confession
LORD, I receive the grace to be at peace with all men, I see them in your eyes and only see the good in them.
