The Gift of God

By Roseline Shola

Devotional Reading: “Work hard for sin your whole life and your pension is death. But God’s gift is real life, eternal life, delivered by Jesus, our master.” Romans 6:23TMSG

I have discovered that most times when given a gift, unknowingly, it gets abused. People get gifted things for the things they have done (gifted for coming top in a competition or presentation) which is more like a reward. Gifts are originally undeserved. It is usually borne out of free will and not dependent on whether or not the person deserves it.

Salvation is a gift. No one had/has to work for it, Jesus did all the work that needed to be done, all the sacrifices that needed to be made in order to secure eternal life for as many that believes.

This gift of God — eternal life is open to all. Slave or freeborn. Background, caste, past regardless. All that is needed to be a beneficiary is faith. Accept the reality of the coming, death, burial and resurrection of Christ.
Accept the gift of eternal life today and join the moving train. Peace!!!

Prayer and Confession
I accept the reality of the cross today! I believe that Jesus came to this world, he suffered, died, was buried and was resurrected by God on the 3rd day. I surrender my life and will to him today. I ask that he comes into my life and be the Lord of it. Amen.
