Blessed to be a Blessing
By Kayode Emmanuel
Devotional Reading: “And when ye reap the harvest of your land, thou shalt not wholly reap the corners of thy field, neither shalt thou gather the gleanings of thy harvest. And thou shalt not glean thy vineyard, neither shalt thou gather every grape of thy vineyard; thou shalt leave them for the poor and stranger: I am the Lord your God.” – Leviticus 19:9-10 KJV
Beginning from the Old Testament unto the New Testament, God has been revealed to be people oriented; people centered. The laws of God are often given in reference for Him which is revealed many times in our relationship with fellow humans. For no man can claim to love God whom he cannot see and hate his brother whom he sees.
The Israelites were given series of laws to live by; social law, law pertaining to worship, sacrifice and lots more. They needed to obey all of that as a prove of their allegiance to Jehovah and importantly, so as to be blessed. And doing otherwise comes with its punishment.
However, believers in Christ has been blessed with all spiritual blessings and all that pertains to life and godliness. Hence, we live to be a channel of blessing to others because we have been blessed of God.
Remember, the true test of prosperity is not in the abundance one has but in the number of lives he has touched positively. So, as you go today and onward, remember to be a source of blessing to others in your own little way as God will allow you.
Prayer and Confession
