The Potency of God’s Word

Devotional Reading: He sent His word and healed them; He rescued them from the Pit. Psalms 107:20 HCSB

God’s word is like a servant that runs errands for God and His children. The writer of Psalm 107 testifies to the impact of God’s word, saying “He (God) sent His word and healed them; He rescued them from the pit.” Praise God! A word from God is potent enough to bring healing to a sick person and rescue someone from trouble.

It is the sword of the spirit with which God carries out His tasks. God’s word has never lost a single battle; it is always winning. If you can engage the ministry of God’s word in your life and situation, you can be sure that you will always win and live a victorious life.

You see, God knows everything. He knows the best thing to do in every situation. He is the answer to all life’s problems if we seek Him. No matter what you are going through, you only need to hear from God what He is saying about that matter of concern to you. Whatever He says is final and will surely settle your problem.

God boasted about the potency of His word through the prophet Isaiah. God said, “For just as rain and snow fall from heaven and do not return there without saturating the earth and making it germinate and sprout, and providing seed to sow and food to eat, so My word that comes from My mouth will not return to Me empty, but it will accomplish what I please and will prosper in what I send it to do.” (Isaiah 55:10-11 HCSB)

Can you see that?

Now, you see, God’s word is not far from you. You are reading it at the moment. The Holy Bible contains the mind of God for you.

As you fellowship with God even in His written word, cherish what the word says about your condition. Hold on to it, believe it with all of your heart, and you will see the salvation of the Lord in due time. God has a way of ministering to your heart in such a way that you will know that He communicated with you, for He is a master communicator.

Prayer and Confession

God is a master communicator. His word is potent, always prospering. My ears are inclined to his words to me at all times.
