Engaging God’s Word

Devotional Reading: Don’t be deceived: God is not mocked. For whatever a man sows he will also reap. Galatians 6:7 HCSB

Truly, time will reveal whether we have treasured God’s Word. The principle of the Law of Sowing and Reaping cannot be overlooked.

We cannot be wiser than the One who gave us His written Word, the Holy Bible. It is His love letter to us, evergreen, always relevant, always updated, and a source of nourishment for our souls. The very mind of God is contained within its pages. The wise consume it repeatedly. Their paths shine brighter, and they bear fruits pleasing to the Father.

May you come to a point where every word on the pages of the Scriptures is genuinely treasured in your hearts. Now dearly beloved, the answer to that prayer lies in immersing yourself in God’s Word day and night. Consider what God told Joshua after the death of Moses: “Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.” (Joshua 1:8, NLT)

You cannot delegate the responsibility of personal reading and studying of God’s Word. You have to do it yourself. The psalmist in Psalm 119 proclaimed, “Your Word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.” (Psalm 119:105, NIRV).

Establish a habit of feeding on God’s Word every day of your life, and you will experience great success.

Prayer and Confession
I will not deceive myself. I will sow generously into feeding on God’s word for it is my goodly heritage and my profiting shall be evident to all.
