Acting on God’s Leading
By Kayode Emmanuel
Devotional Reading: “When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch. Simon answered, “Master, we’ve worked hard all night and haven’t caught anything. But because you say so, I will let down the nets.” Luke 5:4-5 NIV
Life is governed by principles and for the individual to enjoy life in various aspect, the principles must be known and followed accordingly. Otherwise, it will not produce the expected result. Also in the spiritual, principles are to be known and followed to experience life as it should instead of living life as a guess work.
Regardless of situations around the individual or in the environment at large, anyone who will experience the miraculous would not joke with obeying godly instructions. For as many that are led by the spirit of God, they are the sons of God. By implications, no true believer is left to journey life without the guide of God through His spirit. But it is so disheartening, many believers disobey the heavenly guide for whatsoever reason known to them. Little wonder such fellows’ live an ordinary life. For the believer, obedience to divine instructions is not negotiable whether or not it makes sense to human logic.
Again, looking into the scriptures like the one in our opening text today, many who experienced God’s marvelous help got unusual and seemingly futile command, yet they trusted and obey God’s leading. For example; the miracle of turning water to wine, Naaman’s healing in River Jordan, money in the mouth of a fish etc. (John 2, 2Kings 5:10-11, Matt. 17:27). In all of the miracles, what brought the miraculous was God’s word. Question is, what word/instruction are you living on? Will you begin from this moment trust his leading and live a glorious life hereafter?
Prayer and Confession
I do not lack divine guidance in all I do. I am guided along the best pathway for my life, and I progress as I live an obedient life.
