The Spirit of Faith Grows with Words
Devotional Reading: 2 Corinthians 4:13 ESV
Since we have the same spirit of faith according to what has been written, “I believed, and so I spoke,” we also believe, and so we also speak,.
You can’t grow faith without words. The glorified “dignity” that the devil has put on people to keep quiet or demonstrate a certain “social grace” is ignorance. Faith grows with words. Sometimes I tell myself, “My faith is working, I have mountain-moving faith”. I stir up the spirit of faith within me by that, and it works because I have the spirit of faith. I have decided not to live by this earthly system, but by the heavenly system, and you must make up your mind on which system you will live by.
Before you blame the devil you think is responsible for your mishaps, first of all, blame the one in your mouth. It is easy to transfer every blame to the devil. If the devil can talk, he will tell some Christians, “I’ve not got on your case yet; you are the one causing trouble for yourself.”
Proverbs 15:4 speaks of a wholesome tongue. When your tongue has been healed and cured from negative speech, it becomes a tree of life that you can pluck fruit from, and people can come and take from that fruit of your tongue, which is healing for the nations.
Many Christians say utterances they don’t believe just because such utterances are socially acceptable. Is there anything you believe in your heart? Do you believe “By His stripes, I’m healed”? The spirit of faith speaks the word of God that you believe, not what is happening to you or around you. It is not a statement of desire, but genuinely having the experiences God has promised you as a Christian.
Prayer and Confession
I declare in the name of Jesus, “I have a working and thriving faith. I am not living by this earthly system. I am living by the heavenly system.” Amen!
