Give No Place For The Devil
Devotional Reading: Neither give place to the devil. Ephesians 4:27 KJV
The devil is always looking for a foothold in our lives, a place to gain entrance and wreak havoc. The scriptures warns us not to give him that opportunity. Think of it like a door – if we leave it open, even just a crack, the enemy can squeeze in and make himself at home.
We give place to the devil when we harbor unforgiveness, bitterness, or anger. These emotions can consume us, leaving no room for the Holy Spirit to work. For example, if we hold onto resentment towards someone, it’s like inviting the devil to dinner – he’ll show up and bring all his friends!
But when we choose to forgive, let go of bitterness, and release anger, we slam the door shut on the enemy’s access. We create space for God’s love, peace, and joy to fill us instead. It’s like a game of spiritual chess – we must be strategic and intentional about where we give place.
Imagine a garden – if we don’t tend to it, weeds will grow and choke out the beautiful flowers. Similarly, if we don’t guard our hearts and minds, the enemy will try to take root and steal our peace. But when we give place to God, He cultivates a garden of love, hope, and faith within us.
Take a deep reflection by answering these questions: Where am I giving place to the devil in my life? What emotions or thoughts am I harboring that need to be surrendered to God?
Prayers and Confession
I give no room for the devil, I give room for love, hope and faith to thrive in my heart. Amen!
