What Will Be…
Devotional Reading: I know the plans I have in mind for you, declares the LORD ; they are plans for peace, not disaster, to give you a future filled with hope. Jeremiah 29:11 CEB
I hear the saying all the time from those who have not chosen Jesus as their Lord, “Whatever will be, will be.” Have you ever heard that statement? Even have found some who are professed believers say it. If we look deeper into that statement, it is bone-chilling to think that whatever happens in life was meant to be, but unfortunately, that is the modus operandi of the world. I beg to differ. If this “belief system” is true, then what is the reason for prayer, quiet times with the Lord, fasting, or even going to church? If our lives were lived with this predestined path of unfortunate and tragic events, with a few happy moments between, then why would Jesus have needed to come to earth to save us?
If Jesus gave His life for us in the extent of such bitter and physical abuse even unto death to return us to the position of right standing with our Heavenly Father, then the belief system of “Whatever will be, will be” has no space in our lives. When Jesus died and rose again from the dead, our Heavenly Father not only gave us eternal life, but He blessed us with every spiritual blessing in Christ – “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ” (Ephesians 1:3 NIV). This suggests that though our destiny was derailed by Adam & Eve’s wrong choice now because of the position of Jesus, He has re-established us to our destiny and the perfect plan God has for us.

Prayer and Confession
My faith is strong in the Lord, I am unmoved because I’ve got a goodly heritage. Amen!
