The Breastplate of Righteousness

Ephesians 6:14
Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

A believer has just one enemy who is always at a loggerhead with him, the devil, the adversary. He is the enemy of faith. He understands how powerful the believer is even at his worst state is. He understands how he (devil) has been defeated by the death and the resurrection of Christ.

He devices schemes to get the believer swifted from seeing and fully grasping the reality of what Christ has wrought in Him. One of the things he does is to bring condemnation to the believer. He brings to you how that God cannot accept you, how unworthy you are in approaching God and how that God is angry with you.

He plays tricks with you till you get drowned in the pool of guilt, till you get in unbelief of your true identity.  But thanks be unto God for the victory we have in Christ Jesus, The Holy Spirit speaking through Paul says having your loins girth with truth. What Kind of truth? The Word of God; the reality of our redemption, what we have received in Christ. He said “Put on the breastplate of Righteousness”. What the breastplate does is to protect and guide the entire chest region which includes the heart. He said Put it on, guide against those schemes and ploy to get you look filthy and condemned before God.

In other words, remind yourself of how God has made you righteous in Christ, not by your effort. 2Cor. 5:21. Renew your mind with your righteousness status. When you do this, you are quenching the fiery darts of condemnation and guilt shot at you.

CONFESSION

I don’t stand condemned!
I am righteous in Christ!
My mind is renewed!
Amen!
