The Spirit-Filled Life
Ephesians 5:18
” And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;”
The Spirit of God in the Believer is the evidence of our redemption, that is, he is the proof our salvation. We know we are saved because we have the Holy Ghost (Eph.1:13&14, 2Cor.5:5, Eph.4:30).
Knowing this, the call of salvation is the call to the supernatural. The believer is not seen as a mere man, or a natural man, but a man of the Spirit (a spiritual man).
What he does and how he does what he does, should be by the influence of the Spirit… His decisions and steps are directed by the Holy Spirit. This was more seen in the early Church, even to the point of appointing men who will be in charge of menial works ” Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.” (Acts 6: 3). Even Peter’s address to the council in Acts 4 was not just a thought but by the Holy Ghost. ” Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel,” (Acts 4: 8).
To be filled means to “furnish, or to be full of something.” In other words, God’s desire is to see his children full of the Spirit and walk in the Spirit and also to see themselves much often as a Spiritual man. A man full of the Holy Ghost is always ready to do the will of God. He doesn’t work and walk with is senses but always does what the Holy Spirit influences.
Let this be a consciousness everyday, YOU ARE A MAN OF THE SPIRIT.
