Love Your Enemies

Luke 6:27
Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you…

Sam is a diligent worker who does all the necessary jobs he his meant to do, mob the offices, picking up the dirt in the gutters. Sam has a boss who is suffering from a skin problem but never at any moment liked Sam and so he sacked Sam.

However, think of what Sam would have done, revenge? Plan evil? Or seek for someone to defend him. Sam looked at his boss and touched his boss and at that moment the boss got healed of his skin problem.

“Love your enemies,” Jesus says, “do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you” (Luke 6:27–28). These challenging words aren’t meant to excuse evil or stop justice from being pursued. Instead, they call us to imitate God (v. 36) by asking a profound question: How can I help my enemy become all God wants him or her to be?

God wants us to exhibit His nature and re-present His action on earth, just has Jesus did.

CONFESSION

I have my Father’s nature
And I represent and re-present Him well.
Amen!
