Faith Acts
John 9:7, Mark 5:28
“Go,” he told him, “wash in the Pool of Siloam” (this word means “Sent”). So the man went and washed, and came home seeing
For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.
Faith is believing in your heart God’s word concerning a situation and confessing with your mouth what you believe in your heart, but, that’s not all there is to faith. Faith is always a corresponding action to what it believes and confesses. True faith always acts in line with what it believes. Beyond faith being a noun, the Bible teaches faith as a verb meaning that, faith as a verb demands active behaviour consistent with your belief. Your actions has to show what you truly believe in your heart, in other words, you have to live what you believe.
Every time Jesus had to perform a miracle, he always require the responsibility of the individual to make it happen. From the anchor text, Jesus told the blind man to go wash himself in the pool. Now, that sounds or look absurd, we might have asked Him “can’t Jesus just lay hands and make his eyes opened without necessarily going to the pool”? The answer is yes He could have, but He needed the man’s action to make it happen. Likewise the woman with the issue of blood needed to act on what she believes, and what did she believe? She believed Jesus as one who embodies healing, that’s why she said if she can only touch the hem of His garment she will be healed.
In fact, the woman who was healed with the issue of blood gave us a clearer picture that Believe + Confession + Action helps us enjoy God’s best. She first believed what she heard about Jesus’ healing ministry, then she kept saying if she can just touch the hem of Jesus garment I am going to be healed and then she acted upon her believe and confession by getting her way through to make sure she gets what she wants.
So is time for you to act on God’s word that you believe. If you believe God is faithful don’t begin to walk around depressed and worried. If you believe by His stripes you were healed, get you heart and mind aligned and act healed.
CONFESSION
I believe what the Bible says is true
Regardless of my circumstances, I will act in line with what God says.
I will demonstrate my true faith to God and others by my actions
Amen!
