Upon Christ resurrection and ascension, He made a promise to His disciples and invariably to the church that is to be born in few days time when he is gone, that He will send the Holy Spirit who will be with them and shall be in them forever. Paul explained that the same Holy Spirit we receive when we believe in the Gospel of Christ resurrection is the deposit guarantee of our inheritance, and He is Christ dwelling in us.
In our opening text Paul showed us vividly that the Holy Spirit “wants out” all the time meaning He wants to express Himself through us and that the only way this can happen is by showcasing His fruit. He said, “the Holy Spirit produces this fruit…” The believer understand that he is dead to the works of the flesh and his life now is a life that is lived out by the Spirit. He is found always loving, joyful, peaceful, gentle, good, having faith and always disciplined…
It is important for us as believers that staying conscious of this life of the Spirit goes a long away in expressing the very nature of the Spirit of Christ in us. The Holy Spirit is in us for us and upon us for others, He wants out always… We are the reflection of His nature.
CONFESSION
I am born again, born of the Spirit
God finds expression through me as I showcase His fruit
I live out that very nature daily.
