Our Fellowship with God
1 Corinthians 1:9
God is faithful, who has called you into fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
God has called us into fellowship with Himself. He did the calling and our responding to this call made us His children. The monarch of the universe became our father. Every other calling find its root from this call into fellowship with God. It is the greatest honor that can ever be bestowed upon man. God is your father.
Fellowship means koinonia, partnership, friendship. It means the feeling of friendship between two or more persons. We as believers have fellowship with the father. An eternal one for that matter. The implication of this actually is that as a child of God, you have an unlimited access to God. You have and will always have a hearing and an audience with God.
Jesus actually made it possible through His death and resurrection. Ephesians 3:12 NIV says “In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence.”
Did you see that? Thus, your devotions to God should be borne of your fellowship with the father. It must never be borne of religion or duty which often tend to making it look like a burden unto you. But It shouldn’t be so. You will grow to enjoy the father more if all you do is borne of the fellowship you have with Him.
Beloved, as you go about your daily devotions unto the father, always be conscious of this reality that the one you are relating with His your father, who loves you and His always on your side.
Feed on the word of God with that consciousness. Pray with that consciousness. Let every of your devotions unto Him be borne of that consciousness and you will see how great your profiting shall be.
CONFESSION
I have an eternal fellowship with the father,
I have unlimited access to Him,
I take advantage of my fellowship with Him in Jesus name.
