Faith isn’t Passive

1Samuel 1:18

“And she said, let thine handmaid find grace in thy sight. So the woman went her way, and did eat, and her countenance was no more sad”.

Many times as believers, our challenge is not whether or not God has answered our prayers, in fact He already made all things pertaining to life and godliness available for us but we are not thought on how to bring into reality what he had provided for us in Christ. We oftentimes live our lives at the mercy of fate, uttering statements such as ” what will be, will be”. God do not work in a vacuum neither does he work in isolation. We have our part to play as believers, which is to act on our belief; faith. Faith is our positive response to what grace (God) already made for us in Christ.

After Hannah’s prayer and the prophet’s blessing, she did certain things that suggested to us that she already got what she asked. As believers, we should learn from such; she exclaimed out of excitement and thanked the man of God, she went home being happy. Also, verse 19, she copulated with her husband and the promise became a reality.

As believers that we are, the proof that we believe is in doing that which we claim to believe. This is the message of James in his 2nd chapter, verses 17-26; that faith alone without works is dead. From today, why not decide to act out your believe because faith isn’t passive..
