Making a Difference
Matthew 5:16
In same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
Many of us are coping with life instead of being compelled into life. When we cope, we turn inward, making everything about us and what happens to us. When we are being compelled by the love of God, we look outside of ourselves and start serving others, making a difference in their lives.
As believers, we have the love of God to make us different from the rest of the world. We have a light shining inside of us that makes us stand apart. We have that crazy, compelling love that forces us to be different and make a difference wherever we are. As believers, we are called to be difference makers.
Jesus modelled this for us, he taught us that love conquers all and that grace triumphs over judgment and sin. He taught us that the greatest person is the servant and that the proud will be humbled. He did everything out of love for us. A crazy, compelling, everlasting, irrevocable, faithful, and steadfast love.
God wants us to do the same, to be moved by His amazing love to shine our light everywhere we find our selves. It is my desire that as we daily remember His love, may we find ourself living a life greater than ourself. May the love of God shine through us like never before! May we live a life of serving others with the same love we received from God.
CONFESSION
I love others as Christ has graciously loved me
I am compelled to make a difference by shining God’s love for people.
Amen!
