Tell of God’s Goodness
Devotional Reading: “I will praise You, O Lord, with my whole heart; I will show forth (recount and tell aloud) all Your marvelous works and wonderful deeds!” Psalms 9:1 Amp.
A widow shared her testimony in church sometimes last year, before she could summon courage to say a word, she had wept for about three minutes before everyone. People assumed she was crying because of her late husband, but to everyone’s amazement, she cried because she couldn’t find the best word to appreciate God for all His goodness (we knew this from the testimony).
There is a popular saying that, “anyone who could reflect well, will give thanks”, I couldn’t agree less with the saying. Our opening scripture was a psalm by David, having looked back on the wonderful deeds of the Lord in his life, he couldn’t but praise God. Which of his life experiences isn’t worth thanking God for? A shepherd boy killed a giant Goliath, the youngest son of Jesse becoming a king, winning the undying friendship of a crown prince (Jonathan), one who received the promise that his seed would reign forever etc. He came to the conclusion that he would recount and tell aloud all the marvelous works and God’s goodness towards him.
As an individual, look closely into your life at the many wonderful deeds the Lord has done and doing in your life. Praise Him for the salvation of your soul, for the gift of life, for peace untold in a troubled world, for safety and lots more. Think through it, recount it and tell it aloud to others. It is a sure way of making others know about the God you serve.
Decide today never to be quiet about the goodness of God.
Prayer and Confession
I will sing of the mercies of the Lord, With my mouth, I will make known His goodness, His praises will forever be on my lips. Amen.

This is a beautiful reminder to the body of Christ. God is good and his mercies endures forever.
