Don’t Buy The Lie

Devotional Reading: “The serpent was the craftiest of all the creatures the Lord God had made. So the serpent came to the woman. “Really?” he asked. “None of the fruit in the garden? God says you mustn’t eat any of it?” Genesis 3:1 TLB

While I was more younger, I wanted freedom to myself at all cost, I desire to have no one to “boss” me around. I boycotted taking orders from my parent most times. I remembered when I went ahead to purchase a product all by myself as a young naive boy, I ended up paying double the price of the good and to my amazement, it was a counterfeit product. I bought a lie at a costly price.

Jesus refers to the devil as father of lies who couldn’t hold the truth and that he has been at it since the beginning. Way back in the Garden of Eden, he has been displaying his craftiness. Paul warns us and gives us spiritual tools needed to stand against his wiles. Just as the serpent deceived the first man and woman, he still goes about tricking people into stealing, killing and destroying their lives.

What lies has he been feeding you with? Is it on your health? On your finances, your future, or probably on your home? Do not buy his lies, never you allow him talk you out of the wonderful inheritance you’ve got in Christ Jesus. I’ve come to remind you today, only the word of the lord will prevail in your life. You’ll not die of that sickness, you’ll have a godly spouse, your children shall surround your table and you’ll dwell in safety. Hold on to God’s word, do not stagger through unbelieve.

Prayer and Confession

Lord Jesus, I do not look at what the devil is doing,

I set my gaze only on you,

And I will not be disappointed. Amen
