Trust in the Lord
Devotional Reading: “Those who trust in the Lord are steady as Mount Zion, unmoved by any circumstance.” Psalms 125:1 TLB
Merriam Webster dictionary defines trust as to have assured reliance on the character, ability, strength, or truth of someone or something; to place confidence in and rely on a thing. There are many things that men put trust into. Many trust in riches, education, families and even government policies. Also, many parents put their trust in their children to care for them at old age.
Scriptures made us to understand that, putting trust in carnal man is a very deadly thing to do (Jer. 17:5). Only those who put their trust in the Lord will be steady and never be moved. Remember, mountains are emblem of firmness and stability. This implies that, the man who rely on God, even though faced with diverse challenges will never be removed, such a fellow will always stand the test of time and be victorious.
Whatever a man is, to begin with is gotten from the Lord. So, it’s wisdom to trust in Him for all you’ll ever need; provision on all sides, protection, care, love etc. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” Prov. 3:5&6
Prayer and Confession
I will trust in the Lord of my salvation, for He will never let me be put to shame in Jesus name.
