Obedience; Pathway to the Miraculous

Devotional Reading: “His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you. Then he told them, “Now draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet.” They did so.” John 2:5&8 NIV

For everyone who professes to be a believer, the basic prerequisite of such is that, the individual had acknowledged and confessed the lordship of Jesus Christ with his mouth, having believed in his heart the gospel, for without that no one can be saved (Rom. 10:9-10).

Submitting to the lordship of Christ is subjecting one’s life to His authority and power; taking instructions from Him and obeying every of His commands. The Lord whom we serve is a great God who knew the end even before the beginning and when He gives instructions, He does that with eternity in view. That is to say, every jot of His words is for our good and it is imperative we harken to it all.

Many seek for the miraculous doing all sorts of ‘spiritual gimmicks’, rather than obeying God’s words and instructions on the pages of the scripture and the leadings of Holy Spirit. In the school of the spirit, obedience has no alternative. Christ the savior also obeyed the Father even unto death, thereafter He was given a name above every other name.

Like the case of the disciples of Jesus in our passage today, even when the instructions of God do not appeal to logic, please obey Him, His foolishness is wiser than the wisdom of the world. It’s in obedience that your miracle lies. I implore you, trust and obey Him, you’ll come back with testimonies.

Prayer and Confession
Jesus as I yield to your instructions, I walk effortlessly in the Miraculous. Amen!
