Building God-Consciousness 3

Devotional Reading: Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. This I declare about the Lord: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him. Psalms 91: 1-2

For the past three days, we have been on the theme of building God-consciousness.
Now, Have you ever wondered why a person will just finish reading God’s word and promise of his abiding presence and still get outside fidgeting at the hearing of a bad news or even afraid to embark on a journey because of fear of accident? You will soon realize that confession is not all there is to build a strong God consciousness even though it’s a vital part of it.

A person can confess, yet his heart does not agree with his confession. That kind of person might not enjoy the blessedness that follows being God-conscious.

Prioritizing God in your life will help your heart build a strong God-consciousness. More so, fellowshipping daily with God, which includes consistent meditation upon God’s word and prayers, will further help your heart to be more conscious of God and his promises of his ever-abiding presence. Don’t ever see praying as a burden or obligation you must fulfill religiously.

One of the beautiful things sincere prayer does to you is that it helps your heart build a strong God-consciousness. This is better actualize when you develop a consistent prayer life. Praying God’s word helps your heart come into the place of truly appreciating God’s power available for you at all times. People that pray consistently often develop a strong conviction about God because when you pray consistently you cannot but experience God in your life.

Don’t ever see praying as a burden or obligation you must fulfill religiously. One of the beautiful things sincere prayer does to you is that it helps your heart to build a strong God-consciousness. This is better actualized when you develop a consistent prayer life. Praying God’s word helps your heart come into the place of truly appreciating God’s power available for you at all times.

People who pray consistently often develop a strong conviction about God because when you pray, you cannot but experience God in your life. On the other hand, meditation on God’s word takes you to a realm where you are convinced beyond doubt about what you have meditated upon concerning God.

Meditating on God’s word is not just to walk above sinful acts; it also helps build a strong God-consciousness that God is with you.

And finally, learn to obey God’s instructions to you. Obedience to God is the right and just thing to do. Obedience to God’s instructions also helps your heart build a strong consciousness of God’s abiding presence. Even though God is faithful and has promised never to leave you nor forsake you, whenever you continually live a life of disobedience, your heart won’t find it easy to rest in the truth that God is with you. And once you doubt that God is with you, you are vulnerable to attack to the devil’s attack.

Be on the safer side, live a life of obedience, and make trusting God easier for your heart.

Prayer and Confession
God, I agree with your word that you are in me, with me, and for me always. I am secured in your arms. Help me trust you the more and be obedient to your words.
