God Wants To Prosper You 2

Devotional Reading: Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do. Joshua 1:8 NLT

God’s kind of prosperity cannot happen apart from a rich connection to God and His word. Let’s take a closer look at what God said to Joshua:

God’s plan for Joshua’s success and ours begins with the words we speak. Like Joshua, we need to realize that success and abundance only come as we speak words that line up with God’s Word.

Think about what you allow into your heart. Does it come from television? Movies? Friends? Or does it come from God’s Word?

To find out what you have allowed into your heart, just listen to yourself talk. If you are speaking words of doubt, fear, or sickness, then you need to fill yourself up with God’s Word! When you do, you will find yourself saying what God says, and as your spirit hears your voice speaking God’s Word, doubts will flee, and faith will rise!

Remember that to be successful, Joshua not only needed to speak God’s Word, but he needed to meditate on them! This is just as important for us as it was for him. We need to take the time to read the Word of God and analyze and meditate on these words. These words can provide peace, wisdom, explanation, and understanding for every aspect and situation we may find ourselves in.

There has yet to be a problem, situation, or circumstance in which the Word of God cannot be used effectively to understand your best course of action. God knows the beginning, the middle, and the end of our lives because it is He who has written it.

By meditating on His Word, we can better understand as well.

Prayer and Confession
Father, as I commit to speaking your words and meditating on it, my eyes are open to see the wisdom for living. Amen
