No Options
Devotional Reading: The Lord is my strength and my shield; My heart trusted in Him, and I am helped; Therefore my heart greatly rejoices, And with my song I will praise Him. Psalms 28:7 NKJV
Have you ever found yourself in a situation that wasn’t supposed to happen, at least according to your own finite understanding? A situation in which it honestly felt like there were no options in sight to solve the problem? This is one of life’s greatest trials—the “trial of less.”
When God said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you,” He was talking about times exactly like the ones you are trying to endure. When He told us to boldly come to Him in prayer so that we would “find grace to help in time of need,” it was because He knew at some points in our lives, we would need more of His grace than at other times.
When the Bible tells us, “For the more we suffer for Christ, the more God will shower us with his comfort through Christ,” we are reminded that when times get tough, the answer is still the same—it is still in turning to Jesus.
If you are facing a shattered time in your life—a time of less—remember that there is something more on the other side. There is comfort. There is something beyond what you are going through. There is a God who not only knows exactly what you are feeling right now and empathizes with where you are but also already has plans for seeing you through to victory and fullness. No matter what you face, it doesn’t change God’s promises.
If you are going to succeed in life, you can’t let the weather determine when you will go to work and when you won’t.
Prayer and Confession
Share burdens with Jesus, and trust Him to take care of it.
