Bounded by Love

Devotional Reading: “By this shall all men know that you are my disciples, if ye have love one for another” John 13:35 NKJV

As believers, we belong to two different families, the temporal and the eternal. You would agree with me that everyone would want to invest more in something with an assured future. Your temporal family is the earthly one while the ‘eternal one’ is the body of Christ (brethren in the faith).

Now, the earthly family is bonded by blood and of course the heavenly family is as well bonded by blood which is the sacrificial blood of Christ shed for all that choose to accept the gift of sonship. The sacrificial blood was inspired by love. John 3:16 “For God so love the world, that He “GAVE” his only begotten son that whosoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life”. The love here was what triggered the giving and the sacrifice and this what love does — it gives and it sacrifices

Love is the force that joins/binds us all together because, there wouldn’t be the sacrificial blood without love. Love your family in action, pray for one another, meet one another’s needs, help each other as much as it lies within you. By these and more would you be able to prove that you are the disciples of Jesus.

Prayer and Confession
Lord! Help me to love the brothers and sisters you have given to me just as you have taught and shown me to love without holding back. Amen.
