The Atmosphere of Faith

Devotional Reading: But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who have faith and preserve their souls. Hebrews 10:39 ESV

Faith has the power to shift atmospheres; it lifts and changes things. I can lift a situation, a challenge or even another person with the faith I bring.

The Bible says in John 10:10 that we have an enemy who is out to steal, kill, and destroy. It also says that Jesus came to give us life. So, when we face tests and trials, we have a weapon – that is our faith.

Our faith is a weapon that we can use to counterattack the plans of the enemy. We serve a mighty and magnificent God, and our faith is in him. Faith in our God is a mighty weapon to see atmosphere change, to see breakthrough for ourselves and others.

Don’t simply accept that diagnosis. That seemingly unbreakable sin, that unsaved family member, that lack of peace in your home, that lie from the enemy… counterattack with your faith. How can we counterattack? By speaking and declaring the Word of God. The Word of God in our mouth changes the atmosphere where we are. You don’t just declare once, you do it consistently.

It can be easy to let a little bit of faith leak, but our anchor text for today says we are not to shrink back! Step forward, counterattack, believe for more. Change the atmosphere with your faith today.

Prayer and Confession
I choose to change the atmosphere of my situation by faith. As I declare God’s Word, my situation begins to shift for the better. Amen!
