Jesus’ Prayer; Revelation of My Origin

Devotional Reading: “My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one. They are not of the world, even as I am not of it.” John 17:15&16 NIV

Be reminded that the series we started two days ago is to reveal certain truths as stated in Jesus’ Prayer. Now, as a believer, you believe and see those truth at work in your life or you ignore and miss out of the expressions as well.

Most times when I am asked where do I come from, my reply has always been, ‘I am from Zion.’ Many who have an understanding of that easily grasp my response, while those who do not, I utilize the avenue to talk to them about the gospel of Christ.

Jesus says emphatically, the disciples are not of the world just as he is not also. Jesus’ birth place was known, His parents known as well, but He never stopped to say and to act like one who comes from above, because he’s conscious of his heavenly identity (John 8:23, Matt. 26:53). This is supposed to be your disposition also; setting your heart on things above (Col. 3:1-6).

It is only when you know beyond doubt that you are from heaven that you can reject some element of the world; earthly manifestations that are against the reality of one who is from above. For example, do you think sickness, lack or accident could be in heaven? No. So also, none of those should be seen in you. God could make all of that work for your good, but He is never the one bringing them on you. God’s will is that you enjoy earth with as many realities of heaven your faith can allow.

Prayer and Confession
I have the life of God in me, for I am born of God. My life is inundated by the spirit of God. I’m not brought down by the elements of the world. Hallelujah
