Don’t Be Discouraged
Devotional Reading: For even if the mountains walk away and the hills fall to pieces, My love won’t walk away from you, my covenant commitment of peace won’t fall apart.” The God who has compassion on you says so. Isaiah 54:10 MSG
Oftentimes, Satan tries all his best to bring discouragement to our heart. He tries to get us weary with life’s challenges and then ensures it graduates to a stage of depression and then total burnout. Remember Elijah’s story, he had to run for his life because he had challenged the status quo. Jezebel sought for him to kill him.
Elijah got weary at heart by this and experienced a total burn out to the extent that he told God to take his life because he thought he was the only one left among the prophets. God reminded him that there were still other prophets who had not given in to the pressure, and that word from God encouraged him.
Many times, Satan plays that trick. But when he does, never forget he only can try to pressure you, he is powerless and you can’t give in to his pressure now, he is not a roaring lion, he only roars like it. When you Shine the Light of God’s Word on him, you will see how toothless he is.
Gird your heart with the shield of faith, rest in His wonderful arms, you cannot be discouraged and disadvantaged because You have God has your Father, His love will never walk away from you.
