Divine Speed; Redeeming the Time

Devotional Reading: And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you. Joel 2:25 KJV

She was 35 when she decided to go back to school after years of taking care of her family. Many of her peers were established in their careers, while she felt left behind. But something remarkable happened. She graduated top of her class, was offered a prestigious job almost immediately, and within five years, she had surpassed many of her peers professionally (This was the story of Sarah in summary). When people asked how she did it, Sarah would smile and say, “It wasn’t me; it was God’s grace and timing.”

The nature of Divine speed or acceleration often begins where human ability ends. In Joel 2:25, God promises, “I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten.” This isn’t just about restoration but acceleration. What would take others years to achieve, God can make happen in moments. When we align with His will, He has the power to compress time and make things happen at a supernatural pace.

This isn’t about shortcuts; it’s about God’s sovereignty in making all things work together for our good (Romans 8:28). Even when we feel like we’re behind, God can propel us forward in ways that defy logic. Just like the story above, when we trust Him with our delays, He can transform them into displays of His glory.

So why not spend some time in prayer today, asking God to redeem the areas where you feel delayed or left behind. Commit to trusting His timing and surrender your plans to Him.

Prayer and Confession
I declare that God is redeeming the time I thought was lost. He restores the years the enemy has stolen and accelerates His plans in my life. I trust in His perfect timing and believe that all things are working together for my good. I am not behind; I am right on track with God’s divine purpose for me. Amen!
