Favour With Men 2

Devotional Reading: “And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.” – Luke 2:52 (KJV)

When we speak of favour with men, it’s easy to mistake it for human connection, charm, or influence—but it is far more spiritual than that. Favour with men is God moving through human vessels on your behalf. It is divine approval expressed through human platforms. Just as God can speak through prophets, He can also use kings, employers, neighbours, or even strangers to favour His children. What looks like help from a man is often the hand of God behind the curtain.

Biblically, we see this play out in Joseph’s life. Though a Hebrew slave in Egypt, the Bible says, “Joseph found favour in his sight, and he served him” (Genesis 39:4). Potiphar did not just like Joseph; something about Joseph’s presence compelled honour and trust. That’s not coincidence—it’s divine orchestration. It wasn’t Joseph’s accent, appearance, or resume, it was the Lord who made his presence appealing and his efforts irresistible.

Even Jesus, in Luke 2:52, had to grow into favour with both God and men. This teaches us that favour with men is not automatic. It is developed, cultivated, and preserved. It is a seed planted by heaven but watered through how we carry ourselves in the world… our attitude, humility, communication, and posture.

So trace moments in your life when men went out of their way to help or support you, could it be that it was more than goodwill…that it was divine favour in action? Thank God for the vessels He used, and ask Him for discernment to see favour when it shows up.

Prayer and Confession
I am growing in favour with God and with men. My presence is a blessing, and the Lord causes people to be kind, generous, and helpful toward me. Doors open. Opportunities arise. I walk in visible favour today. Amen!
