Discern the Devices of the Enemy
Devotional Reading: “Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.” 2 Corinthians 2:11
The devil rarely attacks with obvious chaos. Most times, he comes subtly through discouragement, weariness, offence, or overthinking. His goal is not always to destroy immediately but to wear you down gradually. If he can make you tired enough, you will stop fighting, stop praying, and stop believing. That is why discernment is crucial in spiritual warfare.
One of his most effective devices is repetition. The same thought, the same fear, the same negative scenario keeps playing in your mind until it feels real. When that happens, you must recognise that not every thought is yours. Some thoughts are suggestions, not conclusions. The moment you identify the source, you can resist it. You cannot fight what you refuse to acknowledge.
Stay spiritually alert. Guard your heart, manage your rest, and stay in the word. A rested believer is a dangerous believer. The devil thrives when believers are exhausted and isolated. When you remain spiritually aware, his tricks lose power, and his lies are exposed.
Prayer and Confession
Lord, I receive discernment and spiritual alertness. I am not ignorant of the enemy’s devices. My mind is guarded, my heart is strengthened, and my faith is steady. Amen!
