God Can Use Systems Without Asking Permission

Devotional Reading: And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed. And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:) – Luke 2:1&4

One of the most fascinating parts of the Christmas story is that a pagan ruler helped fulfill a holy prophecy without even knowing it. Caesar Augustus announced a census for political and economic reasons, but God used that policy to move Joseph and Mary from Nazareth to Bethlehem. Caesar thought he was counting people. God was positioning prophecy. This shows us that God does not need approval from earthly systems to carry out His plans.

Believers often think God only works in church settings or through spiritual activities. Christmas proves otherwise. God can use government decisions, office transfers, school admissions, visa issues, and sudden policy changes to fulfill His purpose. What looks like inconvenience to us may be divine coordination. God is not limited by systems. He uses them. He can turn pressure into direction without sending a prophetic warning beforehand.

When life forces changes you did not plan for, it does not automatically mean something has gone wrong. Sometimes God is relocating you without a conversation because the destination matters more than your comfort. Christmas reminds us that God can be silent yet strategic, invisible yet intentional.

Prayer and Confession
Father, I trust You even when life feels unpredictable. I confess that You are in control of systems, authorities, and circumstances. I choose peace, knowing that You are working all things together for my good. Amen!
