Faith Moves Before You Feel Ready
Key Text: “For we walk by faith, not by sight.” — 2 Corinthians 5:7
One of the biggest misconceptions about faith is thinking strong believers always feel ready. They do not. Most people God used greatly were nervous, uncertain, or confused at some point. Moses complained about his speaking ability. Gideon thought he was too small. Jeremiah believed he was too young. Even Peter said, “Lord, if it is You…” before stepping out. Faith is not having every emotion perfectly arranged. Faith is obeying God while your emotions are still trying to catch up. Sometimes your spirit says “Go!” while your feelings are still sitting on the floor eating biscuits of fear.
Many people delay obedience because they are waiting for a magical feeling called “readiness.” But readiness often grows during the journey, not before it. Imagine if Noah waited until rain started before building the ark. People already thought he looked strange building a giant boat on dry land. Faith can make you look unusual before it makes sense. Starting that assignment, ministry, business, relationship restoration, or dream may feel uncomfortable at first. But every miracle in Scripture usually began with somebody moving before conditions looked perfect. God told Joshua to step into the Jordan before the river parted. The priests had to carry the ark while the water was still flowing. That takes courage.
Here is the funny thing. Fear loves to exaggerate. It can make a small challenge feel like you are fighting ten lions and a dragon. But faith reminds you that God is already ahead of you. The same God who called Peter onto the water was standing right there beside him. You are not taking blind steps when God is leading you. Heaven never says, “Oops, we forgot about your situation.” God already knows the outcome. Your job is obedience. His job is the miracle. And thankfully, God has never failed at His part before.
Prayers and Confession
Father, I refuse to be controlled by fear or hesitation. I receive grace to obey You even when I do not feel fully prepared. Strengthen my heart to move forward in faith. I declare that God is with me, ahead of me, and working through me. I will not shrink back from divine opportunities. Amen.
