YOU CAN ACTUALLY MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Key Text: “Ye are the salt of the earth… Ye are the light of the world.” Matthew 5:13-14

Being a believer is thrilling because God did not save you merely to occupy a seat in church every Sunday. Jesus called you the salt of the earth and the light of the world, which means your presence is supposed to make a difference wherever God has placed you. You carry something that your classroom, workplace, business, family and community desperately need: the influence of Christ. You may think you are just one person, but God has always used ordinary people who were willing to represent Him faithfully.

Salt does not need to shout before you notice it; a little of it can change the taste of an entire meal. In the same way, you do not have to become the loudest Christian in your office or start preaching at everybody before they know you belong to Jesus. Your honesty when others are cutting corners, your kindness when everyone is becoming impatient, your excellence when nobody is watching and your refusal to participate in gossip can preach a powerful sermon. Sometimes your greatest witness is not what you say about Christ but what people consistently see Christ producing in you.

Do not underestimate the impact of small acts of obedience. A simple encouragement can strengthen someone, a sincere prayer can change a situation, an act of generosity can meet a need and one courageous decision can inspire someone else to do what is right. Jesus said your light should shine before people so that they can see your good works and glorify your Father. That means your everyday life is part of your ministry, even when nobody gives you a microphone, a title or a front row seat.

Prayers and Confession
Father, thank You for making me salt and light in this world. I declare that my life carries godly influence. I will not despise small opportunities to do good, show love, speak truth, serve others and demonstrate the character of Christ. My life will make a meaningful difference, and through me, people will encounter the goodness of God.

If someone observed your life for one week without hearing you say that you are a Christian, what would your actions tell them about Jesus?
