GOD IS NOT BORING, YOUR WALK WITH HIM SHOULD NOT BE EITHER

Key Text: “In thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.” Psalm 16:11

Sometimes people think being serious about God means becoming permanently serious faced, as though smiling too much might make heaven revoke your salvation. But the presence of God is actually a place of fullness of joy, and following Jesus should produce a deep enjoyment of life with Him. Christianity is not simply about avoiding bad things; it is also about discovering the goodness, beauty and purpose God has placed in knowing Him. There is something wonderfully satisfying about knowing that your life has meaning beyond getting a job, paying bills and hoping your data does not finish at the wrong time.

There is a thrill that comes from discovering God in ordinary moments. You can enjoy a conversation with a friend, do excellent work, learn something new, build something useful, laugh with your family and still be fully conscious of God. The believer does not need to escape everyday life to experience God because His presence travels with you into the classroom, office, business, workshop and even the traffic where someone has apparently decided that their indicator is optional. When you understand this, your faith becomes something you live, not merely something you attend.

The Christian life becomes beautiful when you stop seeing God as someone who is constantly looking for reasons to spoil your enjoyment. God is not against your joy; He wants your joy rooted in Him rather than in circumstances that can change overnight. There will be difficult seasons, unanswered questions and days when you do not feel particularly spiritual, but your relationship with God can still remain alive and exciting. The more you know Him, the more you discover that following Jesus is not the end of an interesting life; it is the beginning of a better one.

Prayers and Confession
I declare that my joy is rooted in Christ and is not controlled by my circumstances. I will enjoy the life You have given me while honouring You in everything I do. My work, relationships, studies, creativity and daily activities will become opportunities to reflect and experience the goodness of God. Amen.
