Wisdom Hears What God Is Saying
Key Text: “Your own ears will hear him. Right behind you a voice will say, ‘This is the way you should go,’ whether to the right or to the left.” Isaiah 30:21 (NLT)
One of the greatest expressions of wisdom is knowing what God is saying in every season. Wisdom helps you recognise God’s direction even when life is noisy and confusing. Samuel was just a young boy, yet he learnt to distinguish God’s voice from every other voice. A wise believer does not simply ask, “What do I want?” but first asks, “Lord, what are You saying?”
Many wrong decisions are not made because people are wicked but because they are too busy to listen. We often fill every quiet moment with phone notifications, endless scrolling, and unnecessary conversations, then wonder why God’s direction seems faint. Wisdom teaches us to create moments of silence where our hearts can hear God clearly. After all, if your phone battery needs charging every day, your spirit certainly deserves some quiet time too.
God’s wisdom may not always lead you to the easiest path, but it will always lead you to the best one. Paul wanted to preach in certain places, yet the Holy Spirit redirected him to Macedonia where lives were waiting to be transformed. If Paul had insisted on his own plans, he would have missed a divine assignment. When wisdom guides your steps, every delay, detour, and closed door becomes part of God’s perfect direction.
Prayer and Confession
Father, make my heart sensitive to Your voice and Your leading. Remove every distraction that competes for my attention and fill me with the wisdom to recognise Your direction. I declare that I will not be led by fear, pressure, or emotions but by the wisdom of the Holy Spirit. My ears are open to hear You, and my feet follow Your path in Jesus’ name. Amen.
